10 Interesting Facts About Project Management
    1. Project management is ancient
Early forms of project management were used to build huge structures like the Egyptian pyramids and Roman roads, long before “PMI” or “Gantt charts” existed.
    2. Most projects still struggle
Research shows around 70% of organizations have suffered at least one project failure in the last 12 months, and only about 35% of projects are completed successfully on time and on budget.
    3. Poor execution is very expensive
According to PMI’s Pulse of the Profession, companies lose an average of 109 million dollars for every 1 billion dollars invested in projects due to poor execution.
    4. Good project management pays off
Nearly 70% of organizations that formally implement project managers report significantly improved project success rates.
    5. Demand is booming globally
Employers will need millions of new project-oriented roles every year through 2030, with estimates of up to 25 million additional project…

Excellent summary, Surya. It’s fascinating to see how project management has evolved from ancient engineering feats to today’s digitally enabled environments, yet many challenges remain remarkably consistent.

The statistic about communication resonates strongly. In my experience, successful delivery is rarely just about process; it’s about creating clarity, alignment, and shared ownership across stakeholders.

As organisations accelerate transformation initiatives, project professionals are no longer just delivering change, we are helping shape it.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in project management is that delivery is rarely the hard part — alignment is.

Projects succeed when governance is clear, stakeholders are genuinely engaged, and decisions are made with the full lifecycle in mind, not just the handover date. Whether in construction, sustainability, or organisational change, the same principles apply: clarity of roles, transparent communication, and disciplined follow-through.

Strong project management isn’t just about tools or timelines; it’s about creating the conditions for people, processes, and objectives to stay aligned as complexity increases. That’s where real value is delivered.

Yeah agree with you Olumuyiwa project management isn’t just about tools or timelines, it’s about creating the conditions for people, processes, and objectives to stay aligned as complexity increases.

Great reflection, Olumuyiwa. Alignment is often the invisible engine behind successful delivery.

I’ve found that when governance is treated as an enabler rather than a control mechanism, teams collaborate more openly and decisions happen faster. It also helps shift the focus from simply delivering outputs to ensuring we realise the intended outcomes.

In complex environments, maintaining that alignment isn’t a one-off activity — it requires continuous communication, active stakeholder management, and the willingness to recalibrate as projects evolve. That’s where strong project leadership really makes the difference.

                  Good morning everyone 💙❤️

At work and in life, motivation goes up and down, but what really keeps us moving is commitment.

You may start the week very motivated, then the energy drops, excuses appear, and delays happen. That’s normal.

What’s not helpful is waiting to feel motivated every time before taking action.

                  The real difference comes from:

                  • Clear habits

                  • A simple system

                  • Daily commitment, even on days with low energy

Motivation feels good at the start, but commitment is what brings results.

Wishing everyone a great start to the week 😊

                    Lovely post, Anis.
Motivation sparks the start, but commitment is what carries us through; especially on the low-energy days. Simple habits and showing up consistently really do make the difference. Great reminder to start the week
