PMO Lead - Finance & Project Operations at Blackwell Energy,11 Nov 2025 at 11:10 amAccomplished operations and project management professional with over a decade of international experience leading cross-functional initiatives, driving financial governance, and delivering strategic transformation. I specialise in bridging strategic vision with operational execution , developing scalable frameworks that enhance performance, control costs, and optimise resource utilisation. My leadership approach combines analytical precision with collaboration, ensuring alignment between strategic objectives and measurable business outcomes. Across Ireland and the Middle East, I have led procurement and finance transformation projects, reduced aged debtors by 85%, and introduced governance structures that improved organisational efficiency and transparency. Passionate about operational excellence and strategic clarity, I thrive in environments that value innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Not all project decisions should be made at once—some need to be gated. The Gate Decision model, introduced by Dr. Robert G. Cooper, provides a structured way to evaluate a project’s viability at critical stages. By breaking the project into defined phases and requiring formal approval to proceed, this approach ensures that risks are effectively managed, resources are allocated wisely, and strategic alignment is maintained.
For project professionals, mastering the phase-gate process means driving higher success rates, reducing costly overruns, and keeping stakeholders aligned throughout the project lifecycle.
