🎯 Are You Developing Your Strategy Using a Traditional or Agile Methodology?

In today’s dynamic business environments, many leaders face a fundamental question:

What is the most suitable methodology for developing and executing organizational strategies?
Should we adopt the traditional ( Waterfall methodology), with its clear and sequential steps? Or should we rely on the (Agile methodology) to adapt continuously to ongoing changes?

The answer depends on the nature of the strategy itself, how clear the vision is, and whether the surrounding market variables are stable or constantly evolving.

🏗️ First: The Traditional Methodology (Waterfall):
This methodology is used when the vision, strategy, and objectives are clear—both in the short and long term. Hi Mohammed, thank you for sharing your valuable insights. I think your breakdown of Waterfall and Agile is very clear and helpful. I especially like the idea of combining both methodologies to suit different needs. The hybrid approach can be especially powerful, it’s a great way to keep the business aligned with its vision and still remain adaptable.

I live to be challenged, whether it involves finding a solution to a difficult problem, creating something new, or finding ways to improve an existing product or process. Challenges are occasions to learn and grow, to expand my horizons in new directions. Challenges also offer the opportunity to connect with new people, exchange ideas, and build new perspectives.

Hi everyone, I teach project maangement, but there’s lots I don’t know. For example, I don’t really get Agile – I think I might be missing the point. Is it really a good way to plan and deliver projects??

Hi Chris, welcome to the community! Really appreciate your honesty—it’s such a refreshing way to start a conversation.😊 From my experience in marketing, Agile’s strength lies in its flexibility. It allows us to plan in smaller increments, deliver faster, and make adjustments based on what works. It’s been particularly helpful when running campaigns and projects that need to respond to real-time feedback. Is it always the best way? Not necessarily—but for teams working in fast-moving environments, it can really help. There’s still so much to explore and learn—so I’m really glad you brought this up. Keen to hear what others think too!
