Every change creates impact, which is why the human factor must come before processes and tools. Proper stakeholder mapping, aligned with an engaged sponsor, already helps reduce a large part of resistance.

Another key point is that there is no single approach. Each client has a different level of maturity, culture, and expectations. I’ve worked in scenarios where I had to lead everything, and others where the client required a more strategic level, adaptability is essential.

Often, what looks like resistance is not about the change itself, but a lack of clarity, communication, or alignment.

In my view, project management stops supporting change when it becomes too rigid. It becomes an enabler when it balances governance with flexibility and keeps people at the center.
