indeed Motunrayo , most construction professionals are exposed to heavy duty works including but not limited to lifting,  placing,  hammering along with installation works while bending their backs constantly, 

also white collar workers spending most of their time reviewing documents bending their neck forward,  both blue and white collars suffer silently from nagging pain and stiffness ,

from my personal experience and others that i observed, physical pain can translate negatively into your construction site , therefore taking preventive measures through raising awareness about health and fitness is crucial for a healthier workplace

stay safe 

there is a ” trade-off ” between being structured/organized and being agile , though you have balance both,  you need structure to assure stability within an organization,  and you need agility to facilitate change and improve processes , but you cannot have both at the same exact time .

by being PROactive through sharing knowledge with others as soon as possible , information should be shared ahead of construction usually during key periodic meetings to enlighten project stakeholders about what can go wrong during future activities ,

to do so you need at least two weeks-look ahead in terms of project schedule to anticipate unwanted surprises , also construction professional with that proactive mindset , you can also use ” the last planner system ” to pull information from different stakeholders to facilitate coordination

1- for construction projects , calculating the ‘ production rate ‘ for future activities , in other words the amount of work a group of labours or equipment can accomplish per hour ,

2- estimate activity duration and cost

3- measuring the progress daily to evaluate the situation and propose solutions if delays were detected

now to be honest it all starts with reading drawings , specs , bill of quantities , contract agreement (if possible) , local authorities requirements for the purpose of pulling all necessary information to construct the project , test it and deliver it to the end user ,

hi Bianca , actually i never share my thoughts when prioritizing projects based on Risk , simply because project stakeholders are only interested in their own projects , i would say they care less about other projects ,

another reason is confidentiality , we cannot share information across projects even if projects are non confidential ,

its very common in construction projects as well , for me having a mixed responsibilities across multiple projects i used to priorities projects or systems within a project based on ” Risk ” , meaning that those with the highest risk would get my attention and priority until risk is avoided , then i switch my attention and priorities again and focus on another project until risk is avoided as well , and so on ..
